The Israeli military revealed it struck a senior Iranian commander in Tehran on Tuesday, on the fourth day of the war that began with US and Israeli strikes at the weekend.
"A short time ago, the Israeli army struck a senior commander of the Iranian terrorist regime in Tehran," the army said in a statement, without providing further details.
Dozens of senior figures in the Iranian leadership and military have been killed since the US and Israel launched joint attacks on Iran, including Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader who was confirmed dead at the weekend.
