Journalist Ermal Peçi, invited to News24 commented on Prime Minister Edi Rama's speech today, November 5, where the Prime Minister, among other things, commented on the EC's progress report on Albania.

Peçi stressed that Rama, through the measures he has taken, is trying to scare citizens and students, but that he will not succeed. He added that corruption is eating its own children and that this is also happening in the Socialist Party.

"Rama uses a communication methodology because he feels afraid of the protests. He feels afraid because it is evident from the measures he has taken. He is trying to give a whip at dinner and give flowers in the morning. He is trying to scare citizens, but we have seen protests, where there is a large citizen participation. Edi Rama does not provide answers to the real problems that concern us.

"Corruption is eating its own children and this is happening in the SP, which has turned into a party where many have turned out to be corrupt. Government corruption is frightening. Internationals are speaking and they understand that things will go well if justice works. Let's not wait for internationals to come and speak with an iron tongue," said Peçi.

Further, Peçi underlined that the Assembly was the one that raised 83 votes against, thus defending the corruption of former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku. Peçi declared that today the king is naked in front of the internationals.

"The big verdict given to us by the EU is the fact that Prime Minister Rama tells us that we are entering the European Union, uses it as a political card and we are really very far from Europe. The Parliament attacks SPAK from morning to night, the Assembly has raised 83 cards to protect corruption. Today the king is naked in front of the internationals. The EU needs us for geopolitical reasons because we are very far from the standards. I hope I am wrong, but I do not see Albania in the European Union in 2029. There are several criteria that need to be met and we are very far away", assessed Peçi.
