The wife and son of Urim Fiku, a 61-year-old from the village of Gotevë in Bulqiza, who lost his life three days ago, have been taken to the police, while investigations into the incident continue.
The examination revealed that the victim had a gunshot wound, specifically a pistol bullet to the chest.
Initially, the family suspected that the 61-year-old had been attacked by a bear. They transported him to Bulqiza Hospital and notified the police, but Fiku arrived with no signs of life.
The multiple wounds on the body and injuries to the head have raised doubts about the circumstances of death. The body was sent for expertise in Tirana, where the wound caused by the gunshot was also discovered.
Meanwhile, the association of the wife and son has shocked the local community. A resident, who knew the family closely, has expressed his disbelief about the possible involvement of family members in the incident.
"For Gazmir Fiku, who is said to have killed his father, I have never agreed. I had him as a student and he was one of the most exemplary in school. Very good family... I cannot conceive that his wife and son committed this crime. Maybe they did it, I don't know. But I cannot believe that it was committed by family members. His daughter is married and abroad. The son worked here at OSHHE. At first I heard that he was injured by a bear. Then I don't know what to say. He told me that he had a bad time with the villagers," said a resident of the area.
Meanwhile, sources indicate that other investigative actions are expected, including the involvement of another person close to the family.
Police are continuing their investigations to fully elucidate the dynamics of the event and determine those responsible for the death of the 61-year-old man.
