Former DP MP Ervin Salianji has denounced the lack of medicines at the Oncology Hospital at the QSUT, accusing the government of promoting healthcare while patients face difficulties in obtaining the necessary treatments. In a reaction on social networks, Salianji mentions the lack of the drug PHESGO, used in the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. According to him, patients are being offered HERCEPTIN, another therapy that does not contain the same combination of active ingredients.

Salianji emphasizes that the lack of PHESGO is related to the termination of the supply contract, which was not renewed on time and the new contract has not yet been signed. According to him, even in the event of immediate signing, the supply of the medication would require at least 60 days.

The former MP also raises concerns about a notice that, according to him, the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund has forwarded to doctors regarding the exhaustion of funds by the end of the year. He says this situation risks postponing treatments in several services, including oncology, neurology, immunology, cardiology and ophthalmology.

He has also demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Salianj's strong reaction
The government fights tumors with propaganda, there is a lack of drugs for patients!
It is criminal what the state of Albanian healthcare is like today!
The government is promoting the Tumor Institute, while at the Oncology Hospital at the University Hospital of Tirana, doctors and patients complain that many oncology drugs are missing. PHESGO, a concrete example, is an important drug in the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer.

Patients are offered HERCEPTIN, another therapy, which does not contain the same combination of active ingredients. Not because doctors have chosen the most suitable alternative for them, but because PHESGO is missing!
Why is it missing? Because the supply contract has expired, it was not renewed on time and the minister has not signed the new contract. Even if it is signed today, the supply takes at least 60 days! Human suffering is nothing compared to the possibility of corruption that the government sees in every sector.
This was Pink October's gift to women battling cancer!
And while patients wait for their medicines, another order comes from the reality of this system: FSDKSH calls doctors and informs them that the funds have run out, that there is no more budget until the end of the year, and that treatments must be postponed!
In oncology, neurology, immunology, cardiology, ophthalmology and other services.
So, the money is gone, but the diseases are not!
Doctors are placed in an unacceptable position: having to choose between professional obligation to the patient and financial and administrative pressure from state institutions.
This is a problem that directly affects the lives and rights of citizens to treatment.
Minister Spahiu must answer!
Where are the medicines? Where is the money? Who takes responsibility for unsigned contracts and exhausted funds? Are mafia interests prevailing over the health of citizens?
You can't have money for propaganda, facades, and inaugurations, while you don't have money for patients' medicines!
You can't tell people battling cancer to wait 60 days. You can't tell other patients to wait until January because the state budget is over!
Rama resigns!
