On the closing evening of the 21st edition of the International Human Rights Film Festival, executive director Kujtim Çashku presented the Certificate of Appreciation and the Human Rights Medallion to the Ambassador of Spain in Tirana, Gabriel Cremades, for his support of this edition.

"This closure is not the end, it is a season, part of the process. We will continue to be a unique festival that highlights crimes, violations of rights, wherever people demand their rights, from Russian mothers to the defense of Europe. We have created a special medallion for the first time, to honor the ambassador of Spain, for his support," said Çashku.

The ambassador himself, appreciating the mission of a festival which, through artistic productions, highlights human rights and their violations, aiming to raise awareness in societies.

"I am honored to receive this recognition for the first time and we are proud to support a festival, which is especially relevant this year with the theme of peace and remembrance of the victims, which goes parallel to the policies of Spain, where we are against any kind of aggression, in Ukraine or in Palestine. We are recognizing the victims of the civil war and those of the Franco regime and are searching for the bodies of the missing. I congratulate you on your commitment to the protection of human rights," said Ambassador Gabriel Cremades.

The 21st edition had the theme, "War, peacemaking, the rule of law and the commemoration of victims."

In 6 days, 39 films brought stories from the missing in Albania, to Israel and Palestine, Ukraine and Russia, Europe between the USA and the Far East, encouraging discussion and reflection, despite the power, authority, fear, or paranoia that states spread.
