Police have revealed new information about the victim's identity. Initially, it was announced that the young man was a French citizen, but after verification it turned out that he is Portuguese and his name is Luis Miguel Varela Mendes.
His identification was made by the identification tool.
According to authorities, the investigations are also focused on the role of two Turkish citizens, in whose vehicle Sokrat Vata, the perpetrator of the incident, was found, arrested a few hours ago in Levan, Fier.

Regarding the incident that occurred this morning in Ksamil, where a foreign citizen lost his life, we would like to clarify that:

Based on preliminary data available in the first moments of the incident, the victim was initially identified as a French citizen, with the initials MM. Following investigative actions and after finding the identification document, it was confirmed that he was a Portuguese citizen, with the initials LV, born on 27.09.2005.

Meanwhile, investigations have also focused on verifying the involvement of two Turkish citizens in whose vehicle the suspected perpetrator was captured, while they were transporting him towards Tirana.

The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues its actions to fully legally document the circumstances of the event.
