The situation has become tense in The Hague following the announcement of the Special Court's verdict against four former KLA leaders.

Albanian protesters, gathered near the premises of the Special Court, have reacted harshly to the verdict, while clashes have occurred between them and the Dutch police.

According to reports from the scene, Dutch officers clashed with protesters and intervened to remove them from the area near the courthouse. Police also used water cannons to disperse the crowd.

Earlier, Dutch police had asked protesters to leave the courthouse entrance and move to the designated protest area, warning that force would be used in case of disobedience.

The tensions come after the decision by which Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi were sentenced to a total of 81 years in prison for war crimes.

The situation in the area around the Special Court continues to be monitored by Dutch police forces.
