The head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, has demanded that the Parliament condemn the violence against police officers during the protest outside Parliament, while attacking the opposition for its stance.

Balla made accusations, stating that there are people in the protest with connections, according to him, to the Iranian Guard and that the protest is being used for acts of violence. He stated that the police should not face violence while performing their duties and demanded a reaction from the judiciary.

Addressing the opposition, Balla used harsh tones, saying that it has not distanced itself from violence. He concluded by demanding that the Assembly take a stand against violence against the blue uniforms. "Secretary of State Rubio emphasized very clearly a week ago that there are some extremist movements that could endanger stability in Europe. Persons identified by us with clear ties to the Iranian Guard are orchestrators of violence. You are raped by that protest. We will in no way tolerate state police officers being attacked. The blood of state police officers has raised its hand against the state. My call is not for the police, as they are doing their duty. My call is for justice, for prosecutors and judges, solidarity with the state police. I have no expectations that what is left of the DP will not distance itself from violence. You remain a group raped by violence. The Assembly must strongly condemn violence against police officers," he said.
