The Albanian Parliament will hold its next plenary session on Monday, July 20, 2026, amid a boycott by the opposition. In a tense political climate, as the country faces nearly 50 days of mass protests demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, MPs will gather to consider a packed agenda of annual reports from institutions and legal initiatives.
The agenda, approved in support of Order No. 46, dated 17.7.2026 of the President of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi, includes several important items, including the report of the National Council for European Integration for 2025, the draft law "On European Cooperation Societies (ECS)" as well as a series of draft resolutions for the evaluation of the activity of independent institutions.
The deputies will review the reports of the Ombudsman, the High Judicial Council, the High Prosecutorial Council, the High State Audit, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime, as well as the High Inspector of Justice for the year 2025.
Each of the points provides for the presentation of reports, questions from deputies and, if requested, the holding of parliamentary debates.
