Following the verdict of the Special Court against former KLA leaders, unity and institutional coordination are being sought in Kosovo for further steps. Acting President Albulena Haxhiu has called on institutions and political parties to put aside divisions and mutual accusations.
Haxhiu said that in this period, Kosovo does not need divisions and mutual accusations, but a common approach and coordination for actions that can be taken in the future, for which he said discussions have already begun.
"In these difficult moments, we don't need divisions about who is a spy and who is a traitor. What we need is to put them aside and coordinate on the actions we need to take next," said Haxhiu.
This entire situation, according to Haxhiu, should be treated as a priority, while future actions should be coordinated, in order to avoid any step that, according to her, could further aggravate Kosovo's position or even the position of those convicted in The Hague.
"I think everything else makes the position of the Republic of Kosovo more difficult, but also the position of the people who were sentenced to so many years of imprisonment. That is why I emphasize that they must cooperate, we must prioritize this issue," Haxhiu added.
She criticized the PDK's decision to refer the issue of the constitution of the Assembly and the Government to the Constitutional Court, two days before the Special Court's decision, describing this action as meaningless in the current circumstances.
