The seizure of Belinda Balluku's luxury villa in Dhërmi by the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) has sparked fierce debates and high-pitched voices in today's parliamentary session. The head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, spoke from the parliament's rostrum, showing with photos where the former deputy prime minister's villa is located, while also issuing accusations against the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj.

Bardhi addressed the Socialist majority MPs with harsh language, recalling that a short while ago they used the cards in Parliament to protect Balluk from handcuffs, while now her position has been aggravated by two new charges.

The leader of the Democratic MPs openly accused the majority of becoming a shield for government corruption, showing details of the property seized in the south of the country.

"A good part of you have never even dreamed of them, while Belinda only gets her reward in a tender! You better lower your head because you should feel ashamed, because with your card you protected one of these villas. In fact, there are two here, there is also a villa for the staff who invited her from time to time," declared Bardhi while holding the photos in his hands.

During his speech, Bardhi also mentioned the current Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, saying that he was part of the circle that frequented the villa closed by SPAK.

"This Finance Minister is one of the biggest attendees of the parties that Balluku organized with the staff and villa available for them," said Bardhi.

At the end of his speech, Bardhi welcomed the work of the Special Prosecution Office, but called on it not to stop and to immediately officially bring to Parliament the request for the arrest of the government's number two.

"I believe that the prosecution has started a good job and I urge it to continue the investigations unwaveringly. Of course, due to the new accusations it has raised, it turns out that the lady's position has been aggravated and it must urgently bring the request for the lifting of immunity and the request for the arrest of your deputy prime minister. You must apologize to the Albanians who want a real fight against corruption and not a mockery of a parliamentary vote to protect corruption," he said.
