Bujar Asqeriu is a well-known Albanian stage and screen actor. Invited to the show "Rudina" on Tv Klan, he spoke about his childhood and said that his family, since birth, called him Drini. He added that his wife also calls him Drini, except for cases when they have to discuss seriously. As the actor said, before he was born, his parents had a son named Bujar who died, but after they gave him this name in the civil registry, they could not call him by this name, as it reminded them of the son they had lost.
"My father and mother had another son before me and they called him Bujar. But suddenly when we grew up, my mother told me that when they woke up in the morning, he was no longer breathing. He was 6 months old, but what I remember from the description my mother gave me is that she said he was very handsome. When I was born and they wanted to register me in the civil registry, they wanted to name me Drini or Safet. They also decided on Drini, but the clerk had changed their minds and my father decided to call me Bujar. But later they had a reluctance and they didn't want to call me by that name and called me Drini.
Everyone calls me Drini, but when my wife has serious things to say to me, she calls me Bujar. My childhood seemed beautiful to me, like that of all the children in the neighborhood, because the sea gives you life. We had fun playing. But we got a blow very quickly, my father left my life, and 5 years later my father too. After he left, I wanted to leave school, but my people supported me. We were 5 children and with difficulty we built it just as we built our lives. But I want to emphasize that in my survival, when a person loves a profession very much and is connected to his family with love, he has the strength to withstand any blow from life. Life has been difficult and poor not only for me, but for all Albanians", the actor said.
