The Socialist Party's National Assembly is expected to convene on November 14, at a complicated political moment for the majority.

The meeting comes at a time when anti-government protests continue, while President Bajram Begaj has decreed May 9, 2027 as the date of local elections.

Another development that is expected to be in the spotlight is the long-distance clash between Prime Minister Edi Rama and the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

The latter has published notes from Fier prison claiming that through the Minister of Justice, Toni Gogu, he was sent requests to admit involvement in the protests, to step down from the leadership of the Municipality of Tirana and to cease cooperation with lawyer Plarent Ndreca.
