Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called for the formation of a broad national government led by the Likud party, warning against a left-wing government that would be supported by Arab parties.

During his statements, Netanyahu claimed that radical Islamism poses a threat to Israel, both from abroad, through Iran and its allied groups, and from within, through Islamist parties that, according to him, support terrorism.

"A government dependent on these parties will not fight our enemies, but will destroy us from within. This is a matter of life and death," Netanyahu declared.

The Israeli prime minister also accused the leaders of the left-wing bloc of trying to create a minority government that would depend on the support of Arab parties. According to him, such a governing configuration would not be able to cope with the security threats to the country.

Netanyahu claimed that opposition leaders are imposing impossible conditions to prevent the formation of a broad national government, insisting that a Likud-led government is the most suitable alternative for Israel's security and stability.

The statements come in a climate of political tension in Israel, where parties are trying to secure the necessary support to form the next government, while cooperation with Arab parties remains one of the most controversial issues in Israeli politics.
