Luiza Gega continues to raise the name of Albania in Athletics. The red and black athlete ranked third in the "World Challenge" competition in Beijing. The 28-year-old competed in the 1500 meters in just 5 days, after excelling in Doha, where she also broke the national record with 4 minutes, 02 seconds and 63 hundredths, achieving another extraordinary result, which although it was not a new national record, still positioned her in third place at the end of the competition, also placing her on the podium, in a very prestigious competition like the "World Challenge", where the best in the world participate.
Gega recorded a time of 4 minutes, 4 seconds and 20 hundredths, while the race was won by the Ukrainian Mishenko, while the Moroccan Arafi was in second place. After Gega, internationally renowned athletes in this discipline were classified, such as the Moroccan Akaoui, gold medalist at the Mersin Mediterranean Games, or the Dutch Moren Koster, bronze medalist at the Prague European Championships.
