Former SP MP Petro Koçi, invited to the show "Minuta e perha" on News24 commented on the sentences of former KLA leaders.
Koçi emphasized that The Hague today acted as if it were a Court of Serbia.
According to him, the decision is an insult and murderous act for the Albanian nation. Koçi underlined that the court did not convict the KLA leaders even for what was initially alleged, for organ trafficking, but deviated from the path.
"I was afraid of punishment, but not to this extent. This punishment to this extent was unexpected. The Albanian people feel insulted. It is a deep indignation to hear the court's argument, they said probably on behalf of the people of Kosovo, or the expressions "common criminal intent", touch the heart of the people, of all those who fought in the KLA.
The court's expression "in the name of the people of Kosovo" is a murderous irony. Albanians during the war were subjected to a process of savage ethnic cleansing. The decision is more political than judicial. It is an attempt by Serbian and Russian revenge to dirty the Albanian war. It seemed to me like a Serbian court and not an international one. It is also a victory for Milosevic, Mladic, etc., who are now in their graves. The process was in collaboration with Serbian authorities, who are in a conflict of interest, because they are interested in convicting the KLA commanders. It is a murderous and criminal irony. The issue can also be resolved with a referendum in Kosovo, because it is a court that has exceeded its own claims, because it was talking about organ trafficking and now it ended with what we heard today. The people in Kosovo should undo this court with a referendum", declared Koçi.
