The civic protest against the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama marks today, August 16, its 78th day of resistance, while a significant participation of citizens and Albanians from the diaspora is expected in the square again.

This is the third day in a row that Albanian emigrants from different countries around the world have joined the rally in Tirana en masse. Many of them have chosen to turn their arrival in their homeland during the holiday season into a direct activism to become part of the calls against the current government.

In recent days, compatriots from abroad have declared from the protest platform that leaving for European countries should not be the only solution for Albanian youth and families. According to them, Albania must guarantee the necessary economic and social conditions so that citizens can build their future and work with dignity in their country.

Even on this 78th day, the rally will be accompanied by speeches from activists and citizens, banners with critical messages and calls for accountability. The protesters confirm that the resistance will continue without stopping until their main and non-negotiable demand is met: the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
