The photo of Hamit Ibro, the 69-year-old who lost his life as a result of the powerful explosion that shook a building in the "Qemal Stafa" neighborhood in Elbasan, on Wednesday afternoon, is published.
The 69-year-old's body was found at around 00:40, after several hours of searching by teams from the Police, Armed Forces, Civil Emergencies and firefighters. 82-year-old Hatixhe Berisha also lost her life in this serious incident, while 10 other residents of the building were injured and received medical assistance.
According to preliminary police investigations, it is suspected that the explosion and fire were caused by the presence of an excessive amount of gas in the 69-year-old's apartment. The force of the explosion caused considerable damage to the building. Part of the fourth-floor structure collapsed, falling onto the third floor, while the dividing walls and surrounding apartments were also damaged. The investigation group, under the direction of the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office, continues to work to fully clarify the circumstances and cause of the tragedy.
