The EU Delegation to Albania has reacted to the closure of TV News24 and the raid on the premises of Focus Media Group. The EU Delegation stated that it is closely monitoring the situation concerning Focus Media Group and its media outlets.

“Disputes between all parties involved should be resolved with full respect for the rule of law and due legal procedures,” reads the EU Delegation’s post.

The EU stressed that it is important any actions taken do not undermine journalists’ ability to exercise their freedom in delivering information and to protect the confidentiality of their sources.
